Travel / A BACKPACK TROOPS GUIDE
Keep travel bookings and original tickets with your itinerary
Backpack Troops keeps booking details and original documents alongside your trip. Import a booking document or forward a confirmation to the trip’s email address, then review the extracted information before using it in the itinerary.
Backpack Troops is in invite-only early access. Sign in with an admitted account to use the app. AI actions show their credit cost before you start.
Review the parts that change your day
Booking extraction is a draft of the document, not confirmation from the airline or hotel. Check the traveller, date, local time, airport or station, booking status and each travel leg. A return flight can contain more than one date and direction; verify them individually.
For accommodation, distinguish check-in and check-out dates from the date on which you paid. For an activity, check whether the voucher lists an entry time or only a validity period.
- Open your trip’s booking tools.
- Import the document or use the trip’s displayed email address to forward the confirmation.
- Review extracted details and correct anything missing or ambiguous.
- Keep the original document available and check the booking against your daily plan.
Use the original when the summary is not enough
The booking summary helps with planning; the original may contain conditions, barcodes or instructions the summary does not reproduce. Open it before you leave and check that the correct attachment is present.
An itinerary view link does not share original tickets, reservation codes or booking documents. Share sensitive travel documents deliberately with the people who need them.
Prepare for a connection gap
Use the offline pack tools to save selected documents on the device you will carry. Check which downloads completed. Keep any boarding pass or provider app the carrier requires; an imported confirmation is not automatically a boarding pass.
Common questions
Will forwarding a confirmation automatically make every detail correct?
No. Review the extracted booking and its original, especially multi-leg travel, dates, time zones and traveller names.
Are booking changes and cancellations live updates?
Do not rely on the saved booking as a live status feed. Check the provider for current departures, cancellations, gates and reservation status.
