Prepare an offline trip pack before you travel
Backpack Troops can save a trip snapshot and selected ticket documents for offline access on the current device. Download while connected, review the result and refresh the pack after changes. It is a saved copy, not a live version of the trip.
Backpack Troops is in invite-only early access. Sign in with an admitted account to use the app. AI actions show their credit cost before you start.
Download before the airport or train platform
Open the trip while you have a reliable connection and choose Take this trip offline. The pack includes the available itinerary, addresses, booking summaries and shared notes. Select the original ticket documents you also want to save.
A partial download is not a complete pack. Read the download result and retry any failed document while you still have connectivity. Open the files you need on the same device before departure.
- Sign in and open the latest trip while online.
- Choose the offline pack and select the documents you need.
- Wait for completion and review missing or failed items.
- Refresh the pack after itinerary or booking changes.
Know what remains online
Offline packs do not include map tiles, live travel updates, private journal entries, photos or editing. An address missing from the trip will still be missing from the pack. Prepare separate offline maps if your journey needs them.
The saved snapshot does not sync automatically. Changes made by another traveller will not appear in your offline copy until you reconnect and download again.
Keep access tied to the device you will use
Saved files are local to the device or browser. Signing out locks offline-wallet access, and clearing local data can remove downloads. Keep a separate copy of essential provider-issued documents when you need access independent of the app.
Common questions
Does Backpack Troops provide fully offline navigation?
No. The offline pack is for saved trip information and selected documents. It does not download maps, calculate offline routes or provide live travel updates.
Will an edited itinerary update my offline pack?
Not automatically. Reconnect and download the trip again so the saved snapshot reflects the latest changes.
