Keep / A BACKPACK TROOPS GUIDE

Keep a travel journal, postcards and a photo book

Backpack Troops offers private trip journal entries, digital postcards and travel photo books. A postcard combines one photo with your message; a photo book collects 1–24 photos, captions and city stops into a downloadable keepsake.

Write the detail the photo cannot show

A short journal entry can capture why a place mattered: a conversation, a meal or the unexpected turn that changed the day. Keep private notes with the trip while the memory is fresh. Private journal entries are not included in shared itinerary views or offline trip packs.

Choose a postcard or a whole-trip book

For one moment, choose a photo, write a message on the back and preview both sides of a digital postcard. Export a video where supported, a GIF or the two photo sides. Share the exported files through a compatible app.

For a longer story, choose 1–24 photos, add captions, review dates and cities, and arrange the moments. Available image metadata can suggest a date or city; correct missing or inaccurate information yourself. The city map is a record of stops, not a precise GPS trail.

Export a copy you can keep

Photo memories are kept in the current device or browser library. Signing in does not by itself sync or back up those photos. Download a PDF or offline HTML keepsake before clearing data or changing devices.

Manual writing, layouts and keepsake exports do not use AI credits. Optional AI caption help shows its cost before you request a draft. App access is still subject to the current invite-only early-access requirement. Physical printing and mailing are not included.

Common questions

Can I make memories without using AI?

Yes. Use your photos and your own words. Optional AI caption help is separate from manual creation and export.

Will signing in back up my photo book?

No. Photo memories remain in the local library on the current device or browser. Export a keepsake to retain a separate copy.
